Our Mission

Our mission at Community Care Foundation Birmingham Ltd is to support the Somali community in Birmingham by fostering settlement and seamless integration into the broader society. We achieve this through the delivery of meaningful education, comprehensive training, and proactive crime prevention measures. Our approach is rooted in building community competence and cohesion from the grassroots level, emphasizing a community-based strategy.

Our commitment extends to alleviating suffering, addressing loneliness, mitigating distress, tackling educational disadvantages, and navigating other life-challenging issues prevalent within the Somali community. By adopting a holistic and community-centric approach, we strive to empower individuals, enhance community resilience, and contribute to the overall well-being and success of the Somali community in Birmingham.

Our Goal

Our aim is to establish a pathway that enhances the active engagement and assimilation of the community into the wider society of the United Kingdom. Our primary objective is to enhance individuals’ access to comprehensive services in Birmingham while simultaneously supporting the growth and improvement of their competencies, expertise, and understanding. By means of offering comprehensive education, training, and employment services, we enable individuals to actively participate in and establish meaningful connections with society in the United Kingdom.

Equal opportunity

We place a high value on the advancement of equal opportunity and community cohesion. In order to combat all forms of unjust discrimination against Somali community members and other members of the public, we collaborate with statutory and voluntary organizations. Our objective is to establish stronger connections and networks among the Somali community, the nearby East Birmingham neighborhoods of Small Heath, the host community, and other immigrant communities. We achieve this, for instance, by providing individuals who believe they have been subjected to unjust discrimination with Information, Advice, and Guidance Services regarding their legal rights.

Additionally, we will either refer him directly to specialized alternative advice agencies or assign him to one, which may be able to offer appropriate legal counsel and additional

support. Supporting the incorporation of women on an equal footing is a core value of the Community Care Foundation Birmingham. By effectively executing two sizable initiatives that provided training for women in entry-level positions, we have attested to this. Somali women who had never worked before flocked to these endeavors with great enthusiasm and acclaim. Additionally, a significant number of local employers extended their warm reception by offering work experience placements to the participants. Local issues are discussed in seminars and meetings in collaboration with other community organizations in an effort to foster community cohesion (i.e., to bring together members of various communities to address shared concerns). These concerns included providing children with special educational needs access to NHS services and securing places at local institutions. Also serving newly arrived communities established in Birmingham is the Community Care Foundation Birmingham. Persons from the Horn of Africa and the Arabic-speaking community are among those with whom we share many similarities. Our objective is for every service we offer to demonstrate a constructive dedication to promoting equal opportunities for marginalized members of society, including individuals with disabilities and others. Members who are unable to visit our Community Centre due to physical limitations or other barriers receive a home visiting service from us.
